Dublin City Schools is continuing to take steps to strengthen financial management, ensure accountability, and protect the quality of education our students deserve. Working closely with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), we’ve developed a comprehensive Financial Improvement Plan to restore fiscal stability and rebuild public trust.
✅ Key Progress Highlights:
• A Deficit Reduction Plan is now in place to help us reach a balanced budget by FY2027.
• Improved cash flow and payroll management have resulted in verified savings of approximately $4.7 million.
• Our district is receiving hands-on support from GaDOE financial consultants and a special advisor who are assisting daily in reviewing and improving financial systems.
• All FY23 audit materials have been submitted, and we’re working with the Department of Audits and Accounts to ensure full transparency.
• We are expecting in the next few months to discover more information pertaining to our audits. We have been told we will have the information from the special examination audits in November. And we have been told we will have the results of the FY23 audits in December.
• GaDOE advanced QBE funding for payroll in October, ensuring all staff were paid as the district continues to stabilize finances.
💬 Transparency and Accountability:
Dublin City Schools is working with GaDOE to ensure we are fully transparent with our community and stakeholders. A detailed document has been created that outlines all of the key events from the moment the deficit was discovered through today.
We appreciate the ongoing support of GaDOE throughout this process and expect to learn more in the coming months as the results of the special examination audit (expected in November) and the FY23 audit (expected in December) are released.
