At Hillcrest Elementary School leadership isn't just a concept - it's a way of life! As a proud Leader in Me School, HES staff members have been empowering our students with Stephen Covey's transformative model, focusing on building essential leadership and life skills. Throughout the year, our students have been immersed in the Eight Habits: 1) Be Proactive, 2) Begin with the End in Mind, 3) Put First Things First, 4) Think Win-Win, 5) Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood, 6) Synergize, 7) Sharpen the Saw and 8) Find Your Voice - laying the groundwork for lasting academic success.
We recently celebrated the culmination of this year's journey with our Leadership Day! From captivating performances to engaging conversations about leadership notebooks, our students showcased their growth, dedication, and achievements.
HES 3rd Grader Ava Hooper was especially excited to showcase her leadership notebook, explaining “I like my leadership notebook because I can look back and see what I’ve done in the past. It also encourages me to do more work so that I can accomplish even more in Reading and Math.”
Every moment of today was a true testament to our students' incredible journeys, and we couldn't be prouder of their determination to soar even higher!
