About Dublin City Schools
Dublin City Schools is a Pre-K through 12th Grade charter school system located in Dublin, Georgia serving the city and surrounding communities of Laurens County. The town is centrally located within the state and is the county seat. Located on I-16, Dublin is the midpoint between two of the state’s largest urban centers, Atlanta and Savannah. Because of this central location, Dublin has become home to an assortment of industrial distribution centers and to other industries grounded in various technological advancements.
Our district is rooted in being a world-class charter school district that produces globally competitive students. Serving approximately 2,300 students, DCS excels in many areas - outperforming state and national high achievement and success averages, winning academic competitions while excelling in the arts and earning multiple sports championships. The district offers themed learning environments at the elementary level, high school course credits at the middle school level as well as International Baccalaureate, dual enrollment and trade certifications at the high school level.
Dublin City Schools offers complete school choice and program choice. Students attend one of five schools, an all-day gifted program of choice or our college and career academy, to include: Dublin High School, Moore Street School - a behavioral and academic alternative high school, Dublin Middle School, and two themed-focused elementary schools - Hillcrest Elementary (that’s focused on Leadership, Environmental Awareness, and Public Service-LEAP), and Susie Dasher Elementary (that’s focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math-STEAM). To better serve the gifted and high-achieving students, the district also offers an all-day gifted program of choice through the Irish Gifted Academy. And, the Dublin City Schools College and Career Academy is an educational program that provides students with hands-on, industry-specific training. Additionally, located within the Irish Honors Academy at Dublin High School, Dublin City Schools is proud to have the only International Baccalaureate World School between Macon and Savannah.
Dublin City Schools was awarded the State of Georgia’s 2019 Charter System of the Year, and the district has consistently earned the Exemplary Board Status Award through the Georgia School Boards Association from when it was initially offered in 2015 to the present. Like many smaller, rural districts, Dublin City Schools serves a diverse population with stark social, economic, and educational contrasts. Our district boasts a 95.5% graduation rate - which is especially impressive considering all students receive no-cost meals thanks to our participation in the Community Eligibility Provision.
In Dublin City Schools, we strive to continuously live out the belief that high-quality public education can change the world.
