Irish Healthcare
Housed on the Moore Street campus, Irish Healthcare is a fully functioning health clinic that provides a variety of mental and physical healthcare services. This initiative, in collaboration with Medical Center, LLP, aims to provide our students with easy access to high-quality healthcare directly on campus.
The SBHC offers a range of services, including but not limited to:
- Early identification and treatment of injuries and diseases,
- Acute care,
- Immunizations and vaccinations,
- Behavioral health assessment and counseling,
- Lab testing,
- Dental services including fluoride treatments and cleanings,
- Sports physicals,
- Referrals to medical subspecialists as needed.
The school-based health center will accept most insurance plans. However, no child will be denied services due to a family’s inability to pay.
To support your students in accessing these resources, parents and legal guardians should continue referring their child to the school nurse or Clicking the Shamrock for behavioral health support. From there, our school nurses and the Behavioral Health & Wellness Department will assess the situation and make appropriate recommendations to the SBHC. In order to receive support from Irish Healthcare, parents must complete a Consent Form for Minors before their child’s appointment.
Even if you’re unsure whether your child will use the SBHC, having a Consent Form for Minors expedites the care they’re able to receive. Therefore, we recommend that ALL students have a completed form on file. Families will receive their initial paper copy of the Irish Healthcare Consent Form for Minors the week of October 14, 2024. It will also be available on Dublin City Schools’ website and in print at each school nurse’s office. Please note that once a student is registered, their registration lasts for an entire school year. However, new paperwork will be required each August.
Additional information about Irish Healthcare can be found in the attached Frequently Asked Questions; however, if you have any additional questions, please reach out to your child’s school nurse.
