Jeff Davis, At-Large

Jefferson I. Davis IV is a lifelong resident of Dublin, Georgia, and a 1993 graduate of Dublin High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia in 1998, building a strong foundation in leadership, fiscal responsibility, and community development.
Jeff has devoted much of his life to public service and community leadership. A graduate of Leadership Laurens (2007), he has served in numerous roles that reflect his commitment to strengthening the Dublin–Laurens County community. His leadership experience includes serving as Director of the Dublin-Laurens Chamber of Commerce (2007–2010), Past President of the Dublin Rotary Club (2012–2013), Director of the Downtown Dublin Development Authority (2012–2016), Director of the Dublin/Laurens Tourism Council (2014–2016), and member of the City of Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission and Historic Review Board.
From 2016 to 2024, Jeff served as a Director of the Dublin Laurens County Recreation Authority and as Laurens County Commissioner, where he earned designation as a Certified County Commissioner through the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government. These roles strengthened his experience in governance, budgeting, and long-range planning — skills that directly support his service on the Board of Education.
Jeff’s leadership and accomplishments have been recognized statewide. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 66 in 1991. He was selected for the Georgia Forward “Young Gamechangers” Program in 2013 and was named to Georgia Trend’s “Top 40 Under 40 in Georgia” in 2014.
As owner and developer of The Old Post Office in Dublin, Jeff led a historic preservation project that received the prestigious 2013 Marguerite Williams Award from The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation — the organization’s highest honor recognizing the project with the greatest impact on historic preservation statewide. The project also earned 1st Place in the 2013 Build Georgia Awards from the Associated General Contractors of Georgia.
In 2005, Jeff founded Alterra Networks, an information technology solutions provider serving businesses and organizations across the region. Through this work, he has developed expertise in innovation, technology infrastructure, and strategic growth — all critical components of modern education systems.
Jeff is the son of the late Jeff Davis III and Judi Johnston Davis. He has been married to the former Jennifer Wynn of Rockledge, Georgia, since 2005, and they are the proud parents of three children — sons Jeff V and Morgan, and daughter Mollie. The Davis family attends First Methodist Church of Dublin.
Jeff brings to the Board of Education a deep commitment to students, fiscal accountability, community engagement, and long-term strategic planning. His lifelong connection to Dublin and Laurens County drives his dedication to ensuring that local schools provide exceptional opportunities for every child to succeed.
