Board of Education

HIGH ACHIEVEMENT AND SUCCESS FOR ALL STUDENTS
At Dublin City Schools, it's what we strive for: Every. Single. Day.
The Dublin City Schools Board of Education is comprised of seven members, including a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, and four additional board members. Representatives are elected from four districts (wards) as well as three at-large positions to ensure broad community representation.
Currently, Mandy Smith serves as Chairman, John Bell as Vice-Chairman, and Peggy Johnson as Treasurer. Additional board members include Jeff Davis, Joanna Glover, James Lanier, and Kenny Walters.
As a governance team, the Board remains committed to transparency, strong communication, and providing students and staff with a high-quality learning and working environment where everyone can succeed.

Dublin City Schools is proud to be an eleven-time Georgia School Boards Association award recipient, earning Quality Board honors in 2013, Distinguished Board honors in 2014, and Exemplary Board honors in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Board members work collaboratively with interim Superintendent Mrs. Marcee Pool and district leadership to stay current on educational trends and focus areas, always keeping High Achievement and Success for All Students at the center of our work, as outlined in our Strategy Map.
We invite you to visit our campuses, connect with our faculty, staff, and students, and see firsthand the innovative learning taking place both inside and beyond our classrooms. Your voice matters to us, and we value your input as we continue moving Dublin City Schools forward.
